We have two full-time vacancies for a Footwear Technician to work in our Footwear Testing department.
Responsibilities
- Operate standard laboratory equipment in line with Health and Safety assessments and test methods to conduct routine physical testing of footwear, their materials and components.
- Take responsibility for certain aspects of the laboratory and stores maintenance and upkeep.
- Continuous improvement UKAS requirements, including personal training records.
About You
Candidates must have GCSEs in Maths, English and Science (NVQ L3) and be familiar with MS Word and Excel. The successful candidate will be expected to work to deadlines, to produce accurate, detailed results and to be able to work independently and as part of the laboratory team. You must be able to demonstrate good organisation, time management, meticulous attention to detail and planning skills. Previous physical test laboratory experience would be an advantage, as would knowledge of footwear construction and materials, however full training will be given. Flexibility, tenacity and a can-do attitude are key requisites of the role. Knowledge of footwear construction and materials would be desirable, along with experience of working in a test laboratory environment.
