You'll play a key role in ensuring WPS meets its sustainability reporting obligations, while helping our senior leaders understand our performance, reporting risks and the changing regulatory landscape.

You’ll be our principal internal technical lead for sustainability reporting, working closely with the Sustainability Director, Finance Director, Executive Committee and Board, as well as teams across the wider business.

What will you be doing?

  • Coordinating sustainability disclosures for our Annual Report and Accounts
  • Leading the delivery of applicable reporting requirements, including SECR, climate-related financial disclosures and emerging requirements

This role won't initially have direct reports, but you'll have plenty of opportunity to lead through influence, coordinating colleagues and sustainability data owners from across WPS.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who has a strong track record within corporate sustainability or environmental reporting and is comfortable operating in a complex, cross-functional environment. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate sustainability and environmental reporting requirements
  • Experience managing the complete sustainability reporting cycle, from data collection and review through to assurance, approval and publication
  • Experience preparing or coordinating sustainability disclosures for an Annual Report and Accounts
  • Experience establishing reporting controls, audit trails and working with external auditors or assurance providers
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder-management skills, including communicating with senior and Board-level audiences

This is an opportunity to take real ownership of a key area for WPS. You’ll have the chance to shape how we approach sustainability reporting, build strong reporting processes and controls, and work with colleagues right across the business. Most importantly, you’ll help turn complex sustainability data and regulation into clear, meaningful information that supports informed decision-making at the highest levels.
