We are part of Endeavour Learning Trust, a growing, well-established, highly respected and thriving Trust in the North West, currently spanning South Ribble, West Lancashire and North Sefton. Wellfield Academy is an ambitious, thriving and outward-facing school, driven by our mantra of 'Nothing but the Best'. This belief underpins every decision we make and every interaction we have - for our students, our staff and our wider community. We refuse to place limits on what is possible and are uncompromising in our pursuit of excellence, opportunity and care for all.

This is an exceptionally exciting time to join Wellfield. We are one of a small number of schools nationally selected for the Department for Education's Schools Rebuilding Programme, which will see us move into a state-of-the-art new school building in the coming years. Alongside this, our reputation within the local community continues to grow rapidly. The number of families choosing Wellfield as their first-choice secondary school have significantly increased over the past three years – a powerful reflection of the trust placed in us and the impact of The Wellfield Standard in action.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to influence our culture, ethos, and student experience - ensuring every young person thrives in a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving environment. We need a leader who truly understands our school - someone who can inspire, motivate, and drive lasting change.

If you have the vision, passion, and leadership to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you!

As the new Deputy Headteacher – Behaviour & Attitudes, you will:

  • Have an effective leadership style that develops a positive culture amongst staff and students.
  • Possess a dedication to providing students with the best education possible and have the vision, passion and proven track record in school improvement to ensure significant improvements in performance across the school.
  • Be someone with the ability to motivate and inspire students, staff and parents with a strong sense of teamwork and can lead by example, influencing decision-making and shaping policies.
  • Be aspirational, with an uncompromising commitment to improving educational outcomes for all students.
  • Lead upon all areas related to attendance, rewards, celebrations, behaviour and attitudes to create an inclusive, aspirational and community centred ethos across the school.

Whether you are seeking your first Deputy Headteacher post or an experienced school leader looking for the next challenge in your career, if you are committed to championing excellence for all and looking for an opportunity to support with leading an exceptional school within our Trust, we want to hear from you.
