We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Purview E-learning Specialist to design, develop and deliver a practical, role-based learning solution that embeds Purview into business-as-usual operations across a complex Microsoft 365 estate. The primary objective is to transform Purview from a technical configuration tool into an understood, adopted and operational capability through structured training, clear documentation, and a high-quality mandatory E-learning module. You will assess current maturity, interpret real-world configuration, and build structured learning pathways supported by professional digital learning content.
Core Deliverables
- Rapid Capability Assessment
- Assess baseline Microsoft Purview literacy across priority user groups
- Identify capability gaps and training priorities
- Produce a concise 1-page capability assessment summary
- Define the recommended training and learning approach
- Purview Configuration Review
- Review current Purview configuration in practice (RBAC, domains, collections, metadata, glossary)
- Map roles to responsibilities and governance ownership
- Document how Purview is actually being used
- Produce a clear configuration summary to inform training content
- Design Role-Based Learning Pathways
- Design two structured learning pathways:
- A. Data & AI Governance Team
- B. Data Stewards/Business Users
- For each Pathway:
- Define modules, sequencing and learning objectives
- Align content to real-world responsibilities
- Ensure practical application, not theoretical content
- Produce practical, accessible and low-literacy friendly materials including:
- Step-by-step operational guides
- Quick reference sheets
- Hands-on use case scenarios
- Governance and Steward guidance packs
- Role-specific job aids
- This is a core deliverable. Convert the training content into a professional, interactive E-learning module that:
- Includes screen walkthroughs and visual demonstrations
- Contains knowledge checks throughout
- Ends with a structured assessment
- Can be deployed via LMS
- Is packaged as a mandatory Purview learning module
- Pilot the learning with selected users
- Capture feedback and refine materials
- Provide a structured handover pack
- Enable long-term BAU ownership and content maintenance
Essential Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and data governance
- Proven experience designing structured learning pathways
- Demonstrable experience building interactive E-learning modules (LMS based)
- Ability to simplify complex technical configurations into clear business guidance
- Strong documentation skills
- Confident engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Able to deliver at pace within short, outcome-focused engagements
