We are seeking consultants & senior consultants to join our Strategy & Consulting team, an integral component of our expanding Business Growth function. The team is responsible for driving commercial development within the UK space sector including supporting international expansion and investment opportunities. Working in close partnership with our technical teams, you will contribute to proposition development, opportunity generation, and the successful delivery of client consulting engagements.
Reporting into a Lead Consultant, these roles are highly networked requiring an ability to work under pressure and to challenging deadlines. They require an understanding of how to undertake business development, scope work, deliver high quality analysis and evidence-based recommendations. Experience of the space sector is desirable, but not essential. Previous consulting experience and a solid understanding of business strategy methodologies are essential.
Key Responsibilities for our Consultant roles:- Deliver defined elements of consulting engagements, supporting scoping, planning and delivery of client work.
- Manage mid‑level client relationships and coordinate stakeholder input as required.
- Apply critical thinking and market analysis to identify promising opportunities for our clients.
- Produce accurate, concise and audience‑appropriate outputs (slides, analyses, summaries).
- Present confidently to internal and client teams when required.
- Prepare and scope realistic delivery plans for allocated work packages and monitor progress against milestones.
- Support business development activities, helping identify prospects and contributing to proposals/bids.
- Strong commercial and business acumen with experience in strategy, management, business or technology consulting.
- Ability to research emerging technologies and market trends.
- Ability to use detailed analysis to develop business insights and make clear, evidence‑based recommendations.
- Ability to produce well‑structured, high‑impact communication materials.
- Ability to support proposition development and identify new commercial opportunities.
- Ability to be proactive and operate effectively in ambiguous or complex business environments.
- Lead full workstreams within larger consulting engagements, taking responsibility for planning, delivery and quality assurance.
- Produce high‑quality, insight‑driven analysis and shape practical, value‑adding recommendations.
- Develop strategies that maximise client impact and support organisational goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate collaboration with external partners.
- Drive market and technology intelligence gathering to inform strategy development.
- Manage executive-level client relationships and represent the team in key discussions.
- Contribute to product/service development using customer insights and support internal corporate strategy work.
- Mentor junior colleagues, supporting capability development across the team.
- Support business development through proposal/bid preparation, prospect qualification and pipeline shaping.
- Minimum five years’ consulting experience in a technology‑ and innovation‑focused environment.
- Ability to develop value‑driven strategies and ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
- Ability to synthesise insights into actionable, pragmatic recommendations.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver in complex, ambiguous business environments.
- Ability to take full ownership of the sales cycle, from scoping to delivery.
- Ability to mobilise resources to deliver high‑impact outcomes.
- Strong capability in communicating complex strategic concepts to varied audiences.
- Ability to continuously monitor external markets, technologies and competitive signals.
- Experience within the space sector and associated supply chain as well as an understanding of end user ecosystems.
- Developing and selling business consulting services and solutions.
- Identifying and qualifying new prospects with a view to developing a pipeline of potential opportunities.
- An interest in technology and horizon scanning especially how innovation impacts society and business.
