As a Maintenance Electrician, you will help us to drive our ambitious engineering strategy at our site in Stanton Ilkeston. You will use your relevant experience to rapidly diagnose and resolve problems, lead maintenance and continuous improvement. You will also help deliver a range of proactive and reactive maintenance activities across the site including basic Mechanical and Fabrication activities and actively promote Sateba safety culture.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs to our new HS2 production facility including batching plant, steam generators, Kraft curing system, moulds, overhead crane, compressors and electrical distribution systems. This is a full time role working 40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday, 10am – 8pm. £19 per hour.

Accountabilities/Scope of Work:

  • Adhere to all Company Procedures and HSE Policies.
  • Utilise the in house Safety system (LO/TO, Permit) to carry out planned repairs/modifications and document all work carried out.
  • React to equipment breakdown/malfunctions and repair efficiently and effectively and monitor the repair until satisfied with the result.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime.
  • Completion of all relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner correctly recorded on the CMMS system.
  • Ensure any concerns which may affect operational objectives are communicated to the Engineering Manager in a timely effective manner.
  • Effective and economic control of spare parts for all key processes.
  • Provide cover for the key functions of other roles within the shop floor operations where relevant and possible.
  • Work in a flexible manner with other engineering staff to provide 24hr technical cover.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities, suggest and where relevant implement solutions.
  • Complete a full range of maintenance activities across the relevant installed asset base.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and basic fabrications.
  • Support other teams/departments where required.
  • Accurately complete all monitoring systems in accordance with Company Policies/Procedures/Standards.
  • Report any non-conformances and support corrective action activities.
  • Contribute to site efficiency and performance standards.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Must be qualified Electrician ideally with apprenticeship maintenance electrical background.
  • Ideally experienced working within medium/heavy industrial industry.
  • Good Electrical knowledge of LV & HV would be beneficial.
  • Be able to perform mechanical ppm’s and repairs.
  • Being able to work within a team or alone to fault find and able to use initiative to rectify faults, competent in reading wiring drawings.
  • Experienced with carrying out planned maintenance and proactive with reporting faults.
  • Flexible with working weekends when required.
  • An open willing to learn attitude & character.
