Our Merseyside based firm is expanding, and we are looking to recruit a Criminal Solicitor to assist in the supervision and administration of cases and The Standard Crime Contract in the Criminal Department. We offer a flexible working model and competitive salary. An attractive package in excess of £50k p/a is on offer for the right candidate.
THE ROLE: You will be joining an experienced and established team. You will be responsible for both office-based and court work, attending court hearings and taking part in administration and billing using the Proclaim case management system, and to ensure compliance with the 2025 Standard Crime Contract. As an experienced Criminal Solicitor, you will be required to attend the police station and appear in court to conduct advocacy, as well as assist with case management and case preparation. Please be aware this will require working some evenings and weekends to represent suspects detained at the police station.
Successful candidates will:
- Have a first-rate knowledge of criminal law and procedure.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to organise work and meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills.
- To demonstrate the highest standards of client care.
- To be able to provide quality advice to clients.
- To be able to work effectively, with flexibility in your approach to work.

THE CANDIDATE: In order to be considered for the position the successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience, have a minimum of 4 years PQE and be currently Duty Solicitor Qualified for both court and the police station. Higher Court Advocate status is preferred, but not essential. This successful candidate will join an already established, professional, enthusiastic, and convivial team.
