Our firm is seeking a newly qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive for our expanding Actions Against the Police team. Full training will be provided, and no prior experience in this specialist area is required. We will also consider paralegals with 4+ years litigation experience. This role offers an attractive package up to £40,000 basic salary per annum plus significant monthly bonus for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be newly qualified or soon to qualify as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive;
- Have some exposure to litigation (training contract, LPC/LLM placement, paralegal role, or similar);
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail;
- Be motivated to develop a long‑term career in litigation.
Responsibilities
- Run a caseload from inception to conclusion, including investigations, obtaining expert evidence, drafting Letters of Claim, settlement negotiations, pleadings and litigation as appropriate.
- Vet and risk assess new matters entering the department.
- Work to deadlines.
- Provide a high level of client service.
Experience requirements
- Newly qualified or soon to qualify candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous litigation experience is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Experience with Proclaim is preferred; full training can also be provided.
