Position Overview:

This is a demanding, high-responsibility role for a hands-on housekeeping leader who can oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the department while maintaining the home to exceptional private household standards. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the housekeeping operation, leading and supporting a small team, ensuring impeccable presentation across the residence, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, organisation, wardrobe care, efficiency, and discretion at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Housekeeping Management: Oversee and personally execute all high-level cleaning and maintenance of the residence, including specialist care for delicate surfaces, art, antiques, and fine furnishings.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, train, and schedule any junior housekeeping staff, ensuring all tasks are completed to the Principal's exacting standards.
  • Kitchen & General Areas: Ensure all common areas, including the kitchen (in coordination with the Private Chef), formal rooms, and private quarters, are maintained with five-star organisation and hygiene.
  • Discretion & Teamwork: Operate with the utmost professionalism and discretion, respecting the family's privacy and interacting harmoniously with other long-standing household staff (e.g., Private Chef, Security).
  • Reporting & Communication: Report directly to the Household Manager on any maintenance issues, supply needs, and staffing matters, demonstrating a proactive and reliable approach.

Candidate Profile & Requirements:

  • Leadership Ability: Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, and developing a housekeeping team, with the ability to maintain high morale, accountability, and exceptional standards.
  • Experience: Proven, substantial experience (minimum 5+ years) in a Housekeeper or senior housekeeping role within demanding UHNW private households.
  • Technical Skillset: Strong knowledge of high-level housekeeping, garment and fabric care, wardrobe organisation, laundry processes, and the use of modern cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Personal Qualities: Highly detail-oriented, structured, discreet, and service-led, with a calm, grounded, and professional manner.
  • Approach: A positive, hands-on leader who is flexible, easy to work with, receptive to feedback, and able to adapt to the household’s established routines and preferences.
  • References: Verifiable professional references and a clean background check are required.
