Sassy+ is looking for a creative, Motion Graphic Designer to join our growing Post-Production team across our Farringdon and Elstree studios. You will combine advanced After Effects skills with a genuine enthusiasm for AI, owning motion graphics jobs from brief to delivery across branded content, corporate films, social and broadcast. Working alongside our motion designers, editors and producers, with guidance from our Senior Motion Designers and Head of Post, you will help bring generative tools into our workflows where they add real value. Edit and motion graphics are separate roles at Sassy+, so you can focus fully on design and animation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, collaborative environment where creativity meets precision - and where client ambition meets craft.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design & Animation
- Animate motion graphics in After Effects, in both 2D and 3D space, for branded, corporate, social and broadcast content - working from supplied assets and creating additional elements in Illustrator where needed
- Build graphics to locked edits and deliver clean, correctly specified alpha files to the edit team
- Create graphics-only pieces, such as explainers, from first frame to final export
- Composite live-action footage, including tracking, screen replacements and clean-up
- Use generative image and video tools to create assets, concepts, style frames and animated elements, then finish and composite them in After Effects
- Test new AI tools and workflows, sharing what works with the wider Post-Production team
- Keep AI outputs on-brand and consistent, and flag usage-rights and client-approval questions early
- Turn briefs into ideas, pitching your own angles - including fresh uses of AI - that push the work beyond what was asked for
- Work closely with Producers, Editors and Sound, taking client feedback on board without losing the idea
- Partner with Senior Motion Designers on development, feedback and craft standards
- Represent Sassy+ at your best in every interaction, upholding our values and Code of Conduct
Workflow & Delivery
- Keep projects organised and named to Sassy+ workflow standards, so anyone can pick them up
- Deliver to agreed specs, formats and deadlines consistently
- Flag risks, blockers and timeline pressure early to Producers and senior team members
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Minimum of 3 years’ motion graphics experience at an agency, production company or similar fast-paced studio
- Advanced After Effects, including confident use of its 3D space (cameras, lights and 3D layers), plus strong Photoshop and Illustrator
- Hands-on experience using generative AI in real projects, demonstrated in your reel or portfolio
- Solid compositing skills with live-action footage, including tracking, screen replacements and clean-up
- A showreel that shows real creative flair, with strong design, typography and animation principles
- Solid grasp of formats, codecs, frame rates, colour spaces and delivery specs
- Good judgement on quality, consistency and the responsible use of AI in client work
- Ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously, solve problems under deadline and work independently
- Strong communication skills and good habits with files, naming and handovers
- Alignment with Sassy+ values and Code of Conduct
- Cinema 4D or other 3D software
- Interest in (or experience of) more advanced AI techniques, such as using local models in programs such as ComfyUI or building repeatable AI workflows
- Experience with AI upscaling tools
- MOGRT/template building
- Working knowledge of Premiere Pro
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
- Delivery of high-quality motion graphics for our projects and clients, on time and to spec
- Effective ownership of projects from brief to final delivery
- Introduction of AI tools and workflows that add real, measurable value to the Post-Production team
- Feedback from Producers, Editors and Senior Motion Designers on collaboration, communication and craft
- Workflow discipline - file management, naming conventions and handover quality
Performance will be reviewed at months two, four and six as part of the probation period, and annually thereafter.
