Contracted: 35 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days per week as per rota, 18h00 to 01h30

We are currently recruiting for a Full-time Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller at St Helens Depot for Arriva, and we are looking to hear from candidates who are positive, have a can-do attitude and have ambition to grow.

The Role

As a GSO Shunter, you will play an essential role in ensuring our fleet operates smoothly and efficiently. Key responsibilities include:

  • Process the vehicles on their return to the depot.
  • Moving and manoeuvring vehicles/buses within the depot, following instructions from the allocator and parking according to the parking plan.
  • Maintaining overall cleanliness, including bus and facility cleaning, waste removal.
  • Performing fuelling tasks.
  • Conducting visual checks for any damage, reporting issues, and ensuring all windows are closed before buses enter the wash.
  • Follow strict Health & Safety procedures and instructions.
  • Using digital reporting tools.

The role will also have additional site duties in line with General Service Operative (GSO) Essential Requirements.

Delivering timely, efficient, and courteous service on customer sites.

Full UK car (B category) driving licence, held for a minimum of 2 years. Full training and support will be provided by our team, no formal qualifications are needed.
