Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Contracted: 35 - 50 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days per week, per rota, 18:00 - 02:00.

Salary: £14.80 per hour

The Role

As a Bus Shunter GSO (Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller), you will play an essential role in ensuring our fleet operates smoothly and efficiently. Key responsibilities include:

  • Process the vehicles on their return to the depot.
  • Moving and manoeuvring vehicles/buses within the depot, following instructions from the allocator and parking according to the parking plan.
  • Maintaining overall cleanliness, including bus and facility cleaning, waste removal.
  • Performing fuelling tasks.
  • Conducting visual checks for any damage, reporting issues, and ensuring all windows are closed before buses enter the wash.
  • Follow strict Health & Safety procedures and instructions.
  • Using digital reporting tools.
  • Manage yard operations, including charging and vehicle movements.
  • Act as a banks person for safe manoeuvring.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of buses from other garages.
  • Ensure State of Charge (SOC) is maximised by working under the instruction of iBus and Engineering to charge buses, monitor charging, and check that chargers are operational.
  • Provide vehicles for changeovers when requested and charge buses from other garages as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Delivering timely, efficient, and courteous service on customer sites
  • Willingness and ability to work unsocial hours in line with the late shift.
  • Full UK car (B category) driving licence, held for a minimum of 2 years
