Job Title: Deputy Supervisor Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller
Location: Ashington Bus Depot (NE639JZ)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Contracted: 37.5 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days per week as per rota, 5:30 pm – 1:30 am
Salary: £12.60 per hour
The Role
As a Deputy Supervisor Shunter/Cleaner/Fueller, you will support the Supervisor in the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring cleaning, shunting, and fuelling services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual and client standards. You will lead by example, coordinate team activities during your shift, and step in to supervise operations in the Supervisor’s absence.
- Support the Supervisor in managing daily site operations across cleaning, shunting, and fuelling activities.
- Act as the first point of contact for operational issues during your shift.
- Supervise, motivate, and monitor staff performance to ensure productivity and quality standards are met.
- Ensure all cleaning, shunting, and fuelling tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and support services in accordance with contract and Sasse requirements.
- Ensure Health & Safety policies, procedures, and site rules are followed at all times.
- Assist with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, and day-to-day workforce coordination.
- Support the Supervisor with basic people management matters.
- Ensure all operational and site documentation is completed accurately and on time.
Essential Requirements
- Delivering timely, efficient, and courteous service on customer sites
- Willingness and ability to work unsocial hours in line with the late shift.
- Full UK car (B category) driving licence, held for a minimum of 2 years
