The Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing (NLP) R&D Team is looking for a Linguistic Developer to help our Analytics, AI, and Machine Learning division build and test world‑class software and models that analyze natural language data across 33 languages. We are working on the cutting edge of today’s NLP, innovating with Large and Small Language Models, and leveraging various analysis and modeling techniques to overcome risks and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality text analytics software and AI solutions by designing, programming, testing, and documenting code.
  • Research, prototype, implement, and validate high‑end analytic models across multiple human languages utilizing supervised and unsupervised statistical modeling, deep learning techniques, and symbolic AI techniques.
  • Research, prototype, and innovate to select appropriate NLP methods and computational algorithms.
  • Work closely with technical support and testing groups, providing expertise in text analytics and computational linguistics.
  • Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization’s secure software development goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in NLP or computational linguistics.
  • Bachelor’s (Master’s or Ph.D. preferred) degree in linguistics, computational linguistics, natural language processing, or a related field.
  • Expertise in a leading‑edge area of NLP and AI modeling (e.g., supervised, semi‑supervised, unsupervised, symbolic AI, deep learning, or LLMs) and knowledge of relevant linguistic and NLP computing methods.
  • Demonstrated professional software development experience in Python, SAS, Java, or similar, with basic knowledge of UNIX commands, CI/CD, and related technical skills.
  • Intermediate aptitude across multiple languages and the ability to apply linguistic analysis to real‑world data.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Skills in corpus linguistics, including collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and searching data.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical and machine learning models and methods.
  • Experience writing or training large‑scale or complex models across multiple human languages and domains.
  • Advanced or native language skills in at least three languages (e.g., Arabic, Greek, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Hindi, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, Farsi, Hebrew); written and spoken English fluency is required.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK is required to be considered for this role.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
