We're looking for an experienced and highly organized HR Operations Specialist to play a key role in the transformation of our HR Operations function across Northern Europe. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on HR operations expertise with process improvement, automation, and change management initiatives that will help shape the future of HR service delivery at SAS. About the Role We are transforming how HR services are delivered across SAS and in Northern Europe we have an exciting opportunity for an HR Operations Specialist to play a key role in the transformation of our HR Operations function across Northern Europe. As an HR Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of HR processes while supporting the design and implementation of a scalable, technology-enabled HR Operations Hub serving the UK, Ireland, and Nordic region. As part of our transformation from locally delivered HR administration to a modern, virtual HR Operations Hub model, we are looking for an HR Operations Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on HR operations with transformation and continuous improvement work. While supporting day-to-day HR operations for the UK & Ireland, you will also play an important role in helping shape the future HR service delivery model across Northern Europe. Working alongside our existing HR Operations team and partnering our HR Systems and HR Intelligence teams you will help standardise processes, identify and implement automation opportunities and support the transition towards a scalable and efficient virtual HR Operations Hub.

What You'll Be Doing HR Operations Delivery, Data, Reporting & Operational Excellence

You will:

  • Administer all HR transactions within the global HRIS, including new hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, reorganizations, location changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records while ensuring the highest standards of data quality, confidentiality, privacy, and compliance.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees, managers, and HR stakeholders, responding to inquiries and escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Partner with internal teams across SAS to research and resolve HR-related issues.
  • Generate reports, dashboards, and analytics using HR systems and reporting tools.
  • Support HR projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts across the function.

Support the HR Hub Transformation

  • Work with colleagues across EMEA-AP support the design and implementation of the Northern Europe HR Operations Hub.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive and manual HR processes in partnership with HR Systems and HR Intelligence teams.
  • Standardize HR operational practices across the UK, Ireland, and Nordic countries.
  • Assist with transitioning operational activities into a centralized service delivery model where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations teams across EMEA and AP to identify and implement best practices.
  • Provide operational support during the transition period to ensure business continuity.
  • Contribute to building a sustainable, scalable, and future‑ready HR Operations function aligned with SAS's broader HR transformation strategy. We're looking for someone who enjoys both operational delivery and improving the way things work.

You may currently be working in HR Operations, HR Administration, HR Shared Services or a similar HR support role and be looking for an opportunity to join a team undergoing exciting transformation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting HR operations, HR administration, HR shared services, or HRIS processes.
  • Experience working with HR systems and employee data management.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global team.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting HR transformation, process improvement, or shared services initiatives.
  • Knowledge of HR automation, workflow optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in a multinational and matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and HR compliance requirements across Europe., Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset and communication skills.
  • Analytical approach with confidence working with HR data and reporting.
  • Ability to build relationships across multiple teams and stakeholders.
