We’re looking for an experienced Freelance Pattern Cutter / Garment Technologist to support the development of an upcoming womenswear collection for a luxury womenswear brand based in Leeds. This is a hands‑on role working closely with the founder to refine existing samples, prepare styles for production, and support the technical development process from concept through to manufacturing.

Key responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and correcting fit on existing garments
  • Creating, amending, and refining production‑ready patterns
  • Grading patterns across size ranges
  • Creating detailed, factory‑ready tech packs for every individual design/style
  • Continuously updating and refining tech packs after fittings, sample reviews, and any garment amendments throughout the development process
  • Recording all fit comments, construction changes, measurements, and production notes accurately within tech packs
  • Advising on garment construction and finishing techniques
  • Measuring and fitting samples with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Supporting fabric, trim, and construction decisions where needed
  • Liaising closely with the founder during development stages
  • Supporting the transition from sampling through to production
  • Ensuring garments are production efficient whilst maintaining luxury quality standards

Ideal candidate:

  • Based in or near Leeds / West Yorkshire (in‑person only)
  • With strong experience in luxury womenswear / occasionwear
  • Experienced in pattern cutting, garment technology, grading, and full tech pack development
  • Who understands garment construction, fit correction, and factory requirements
  • Comfortable working from existing samples and improving them
  • Experienced with delicate and premium fabrics such as velvet, lace, stretch fabrics, silks, etc.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work collaboratively and communicate clearly throughout the development process

This is a freelance / project‑based role with ongoing work potential as the brand grows. Hourly rate / project rate dependent on experience.
