6 SESSION SALARIED GP

We are a friendly, resilient practice looking to welcome an enthusiastic and committed GP to our fantastic team.

Our mission statement is to be committed to providing high quality, patient centred care using a multi-disciplinary team approach, with patient and staff well-being at the heart of our Sarum Health Group family.

Our multi-disciplinary team consists of two GP Partners, Advanced Clinical Practitioner Partner and Pharmacist Partner.

They are all supported by Advanced Clinical Practitioners who lead on acute same day care, alongside the Home Visiting Team and First Contact Physio, Pharmacists, Practice Nurses and HCAs.

We also have Social Prescribers who work as PCN staff dealing with the Mental Health of our patients.

Our administration team handle all incoming letters, assist in sending clinical letters, referrals, invites and all non-NHS work, along with our reception team who handle all incoming calls and booking of appointments.

We here at Sarum Health Group work as a well-oiled unit meaning the work is carried out in an effective and efficient manner.

Main duties of the job

As a General Practitioner working within our GP surgeries, you will be a key member of our clinical team, delivering safe, effective and high-quality primary care services to our registered population.

Your responsibilities will include

• Referrals and Coordination of Care

• Clinical Governance, Quality and Development
• Home Visits (as required)
• Teaching and Mentorship (Optional)

The successful General Practitioner will have support from in-house team for prescription queries, document management, triage and will work as an autonomous practitioner, diagnosing, managing, prescribing and discharging patients with illness or injury across all age groups including young children.

This may be by a mix of face-to-face consultation, telephone or video consultation.

• Morning session

• 11 x 15-minute face to face appointments, a mixture of routine and urgent
• 4 x 10-minute telephone appointments
• 30-minute admin block
• 3 x Non-NHS slots

• Afternoon session

• 9 x 15-minute face to face appointments, a mixture of routine and urgent
• 4 x 10-minute telephone appointments
• 4 x 5-minute follow up slots for only you to book
• 30-minute admin block

Medication queries are largely dealt with by our in-house Pharmacist team.

Shared administration of pathology filing and letter filing.

Primary Responsibilities

• The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
• The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
• Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
• Effective management of long-term conditions
• Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
• On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
• Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
• Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
• Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
• Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
• Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
• Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
• Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
• Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
• Prepare and complete the revalidation process
• Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
• Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
• Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
• Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
• Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• GMC registered with a license to practise; On the NHS England Performers List.

Experience

• Experience working in General Practice/Primary Care setting; Experience of working to achieve standards within the Quality and Outcome Framework (Qo F) Working autonomously in an General Practitioner role.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient care skills; Enthusiastic, collaborative and keen to contribute to a positive team culture.
