We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer (F/M) for plastic parts for the Global Plastic Group Design department at Sartorius Stedim FMT S.A.S. in Aubagne. In this role, you will be responsible for designing mainly injection-moulded components for the biotechnology industry.

Responsibilities

  • Your core tasks will include designing individual components and assemblies, primarily made of plastic, using Onshape and Creo Parametric CAD software.
  • You will ensure close cooperation with other key areas of the company in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of design requirements and develop effective design solutions.
  • You will ensure consistent orientation of engineering processes to guarantee the highest quality standards in the design of our products and to identify process improvements.
  • You will be responsible for creating, checking and maintaining the necessary design documentation.
  • You will participate in regular design review meetings.
  • Supporting the development departments from initial prototype trials to the introduction of industrialised solutions into series production through communication and coordination with the operations team rounds off your job profile.

What Will Convince Us

  • You have a university degree in mechanical engineering, plastics engineering or production engineering.
  • You also have several years of professional experience as a design engineer.
  • You have comprehensive knowledge of a recognised CAD design package, preferably with good experience of Onshape and/or Creo Parametric design software.
  • Extensive experience in the design of plastic parts.
  • Good experience in Tolerance Stack up and Tolerance specifications (ISO 20457).
  • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Method (FEM), Mold Flow Analysis (MFA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Six Sigma.
  • You are a creative problem solver with strong teamwork skills and a structured approach to your work.
  • You are willing to travel internationally (approx. 20%).
  • Strong communication skills in French and English round off your profile.
  • A basic knowledge of German would be an advantage.
