Join our Sales team as an R&D Field Account Manager Strategic Accounts and play a key role in driving early - stage value creation through deep engagement with customer R&D sites. By building trusted relationships, supporting technology validation, and creating visibility of molecule and process development activities you will help accelerate the development and production of innovative therapies for better health for more people.

Your main focus will be a key strategic biopharma account based in Billingham, with occasional travel to Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands and Denmark to support additional strategic accounts. Based from home, ideally close to Billingham, you will become part of a team of 5 dedicated professionals who look forward to shaping the future together with you.
Grow with Us - Your Responsibilities
- Build sustained relationships at Strategic Account R&D sites with scientific and managerial stakeholders to increase access, trust, early visibility of molecule programs, discovery and R&D process decisions
- Enable timely technology seeding and opportunity creation
- Identify and prioritize early‑stage technology seeding opportunities by translating R&D process needs and discovery‑stage requirements (e.g. media, cell line, critical raw materials, data/analytics enablement) into concrete use cases and aligning required Business Units technical experts for validation support, including new molecules, processes, and modalities to create future long‑term value beyond existing business
- Drive validation of selected technologies through process & product trials and defined process steps with the customer, including scale‑up / scale‑down and manufacturing‑sensitive validation where applicable, applying a process‑consultancy approach, documenting outcomes and readiness signals to support progression toward pilot/clinical or manufacturing adoption
- Support pilot and clinical‑phase (Phase I-III) process and product trials by enabling scale‑up / scale‑down validation, process optimization, and manufacturing‑sensitive readiness in collaboration with Product Development, Tech Transfer, and CMOs
- Control and monitor the new process landscape within the account (new processes, transfers, new modalities) by flagging footprint changes, risks, and implications early to relevant internal stakeholders
- Execute structured handovers of validated programs to the commercial scope by packaging stakeholder maps, process context, validation evidence, and next actions
What will convince us
- Degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or comparable field
- Strong experience in customer-facing roles in biopharma environments (e.g., process development support, technical sales, applications, scientific support) with strong exposure to R&D contexts
- Industry experience within R&D in bioprocessing, upstream or downstream process or purification or filtration is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to operate credibly in highly scientific environments and translate early R&D needs into structured validation and adoption paths
- Confident communicator able to influence diverse, senior decision makers and partner with Technical Sales to shape complex customer solutions
- Strong stakeholder management across customer R&D networks and internal matrix teams
- High proficiency in CRM (SFDC) and disciplined documentation for structured handover (pipeline tracking, customer processes, validation evidence, decision points) for data‑driven sales steering
- Fluent English
- Willing to travel >50% as this role is heavily focused on external customers
