Sarto Thomas are delighted to be supporting a Local Authority in Kent with the appointment of an experienced Class 2F Registered Building Inspector on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RBI to join a busy Building Control team, working across a varied and challenging portfolio while helping to ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained.
The Role
- Undertake restricted activities in line with your level of registration and competence
- Examine plans and carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation
- Manage a diverse range of projects from inception through to completion
- Initiate and manage enforcement action where required
- Assess dangerous structures and implement immediate remedial measures where necessary
- Provide specialist advice to colleagues, customers and stakeholders
- Support and supervise more junior Registered Building Inspectors, including Class 1 RBIs
- Contribute to the effective delivery of the Building Control service across the authority
Requirements
- Building Safety Regulator registration at Class 2F
- Previous experience working within a Local Authority or Building Control environment
- Detailed knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation
- Strong technical and project management skills
- Experience dealing with complex projects and enforcement matters
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
