Transport Planner / Consultant β London
We're working with a well established and growing transport planning consultancy to recruit a Transport Planner to join their London team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early to mid level experience in development planning to take the next step in their career, gaining greater responsibility, client exposure and project ownership while being supported by experienced transport planners in a collaborative environment.
The Role
As a Transport Planner / Consultant, you will take an active role in delivering development planning projects, applying your technical knowledge and professional judgement to help shape development proposals across residential, commercial and mixed use schemes.
You will support senior colleagues while beginning to take ownership of smaller projects or defined workstreams, liaising directly with clients, design teams and local authorities. This role is ideal for someone who has gained initial consultancy experience and is ready to step up, develop specialist skills and contribute to the growth of a successful transport planning team.
Key Responsibilities and Profile
- Prepare technical inputs for planning applications and Local Plan work, including Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- Undertake transport data analysis, including trip generation, accessibility and junction modelling.
- Support sustainable transport strategies and development masterplanning.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients and local authorities.
- Review technical information and propose practical solutions to project challenges.
- Produce clear written reports, drawings and visual outputs.
- Experience in development related transport planning within consultancy or a similar environment.
- Strong communication skills, good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Understanding of UK planning policy and technical tools such as Excel, Junctions or LinSig and ideally ArcGIS, with commitment to ongoing professional development.
