About the Role:
My client based in Essex are seeking an experienced Property Solicitor to join their Legal Services team on a locum basis. This is an exciting opportunity to provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of property law matters affecting local government and the community. You will work closely with internal departments, external stakeholders, and elected members to ensure the authority’s property transactions are conducted in compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice on all aspects of property law, including acquisitions, disposals, leases, and licences.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents related to property transactions.
- Advising on land use and planning matters.
- Representing the authority in property-related disputes, including litigation and mediation.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and internal procedures.
- Collaborating with other legal teams and departments to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
- Supporting the management of legal risks in property transactions.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with a proven track record in property law, preferably within a local government or public sector setting.
- Experience in handling a diverse caseload of property-related legal matters.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
