The Position
Applications are invited for a Shift Electrician at the Company's SARVAL Nottingham site. This site operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The role is a full-time permanent position, working 4 on 4 off 12-hour day shifts. There will be a requirement for on-call support, which will be discussed at the interview. You will be expected to cover shifts for holidays and sickness and work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Working under Health & Safety guidelines
- Initially responsible to the Engineering Team Leader
- Liaising with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes
- Understanding all factory operations, including steam raising plant, odour control, and effluent treatment plant
- Monitoring all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation
- Carrying out breakdown repairs on factory equipment in a timely manner
- Providing assistance to other shift members when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management
- Performing site electrical installations and upgrade work as designated by the Electrical Team Leader
- Carrying out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned schedules
- Being on call for a proportion of the time
The Person
- Must have served a recognised City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship
- Extensive electrical experience in a continuous process environment
- Experience of handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns
- Proven fault-finding skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve process problems
- Familiarity with general factory maintenance practices
- Knowledge of basic PLC logic and inverter drives
- Basic mechanical skills
- Experience with plant operations
- Ability to work independently and on initiative
- Self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
