Senior Protective Relaying Engineer 2

Description This position offers a hybrid schedule of in-office days and remote work. This senior engineering role is within Sargent & Lundy\’s Electrical Analytical Division and will be responsible for: Performing protection system calculations and analysis for a variety of clients. Developing relay settings for HV/EHV Substations and Transmission Lines. Developing relay settings for Power Station Generators, Transformers, Motors, and Medium & Low Voltage protection devices. Assisting clients in complying with NERC PRC standards. Analyzing relaying event reports. Qualifications Note: We do not sponsor work authorization in the U.S. for this position. Essential skills and experience include: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably in Power/Power Systems) or equivalent industry experience. At least 7 years of relevant engineering experience with a focus on power system protection. Experience with microprocessor-based relays (SEL, Beckwith, GE, ABB, etc.) and electro-mechanical relays. Proficiency with relay software such as SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, etc. Experience with generator, transformer, and motor protection studies. Experience with HV/EHV substation and line relaying. Experience with low-voltage breaker protection. Familiarity with protection system software like ETAP, SKM, and Aspen. Knowledge of NERC PRC compliance evaluations. Valued but not required skills: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Successful completion of the PE exam. Experience with transient power system analysis using software such as PSS/E, ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, EMTP-RV. Experience with short circuit analysis using CAPE or EasyPower.
