Overview
Your focus will be to grow Sarens' small and mid-size projects across the UK. You activate your network, open doors with contractors and industrial operators, and turn day-to-day lifting and transport challenges into safe, reliable solutions using our equipment including SPMTs, skidding and jacking equipment and heavy cranes. By building a strong pipeline of shorter-cycle work, you strengthen our footprint beyond the big, one-off projects. You work with real autonomy, with the option of remote working and backed by experienced Operations and Engineering teams.
Your Job In a Nutshell
- You maintain close contact with existing customers, visiting them regularly to identify future needs and ensure ongoing satisfaction.
- You search out and build new contacts, expanding our customer base through active prospecting: processing unsolicited enquiries, researching future projects, and representing Sarens proudly at trade fairs and networking events when needed.
- You identify customer requirements, give comprehensive advice on our services, translate the lifting challenge into a technical solution using Sarens equipment, and prepare a tailored tender (with support from Engineering or Sales Support when required).
- You follow every project from first lead to final deal, ensuring clear communication, adjustments where needed, and excellent service throughout the process.
- You discuss contracts with customers and negotiate commercial terms (supported by Legal & Contract Management when appropriate).
- After securing a project, you conduct a full handover with Operations and then monitor project progress remotely.
- You maintain accurate administrative records, including CRM data and activity logging.
- You report directly to the Business Unit Manager and work closely with all departments.

You know the UK heavy lifting and transport landscape, understand where SPMTs and crawler cranes win, and feel confident speaking with contractors on site. You enjoy autonomy, build trust quickly, and bring a reliable, safety-focused mindset to every challenge.
What You Bring
- Strong familiarity with the UK heavy lifting/transport market
- Working knowledge of SPMTs, skidding and jacking equipment and crawler lattice boom cranes
- A network you can activate quickly for meetings, RFQs and short-cycle jobs
- Confidence in outbound prospecting, site visits and technical conversations
- Right to work in the UK and a valid UK driving licence
- Preferred Background in project operations (lifting supervision, planning, site/project management)
- Understanding of SPMT operation, alternative lifting methodologies and lift planning
- Experience with job costing, CRM tools and structured sales pipelines
