A leading high street supplier is looking for a Junior Technical Designer to join their growing womenswear team. This is a great opportunity for a technically focused designer to develop their career, working across cut & sew jersey for womenswear daywear, leisure and formalwear.

You’ll support garment development from initial samples through to approval, working closely with design, sourcing, production and suppliers to ensure fit, construction and quality standards are met.

The Role:

  • Create accurate technical packs and garment specifications
  • Produce detailed CADs using Adobe Illustrator
  • Support sample development, amendments and approvals
  • Attend fit sessions, recording fit comments and implementing amendments
  • Develop strong knowledge of garment construction, fit and measurements
  • Follow the critical path, managing deadlines and key development stages
  • Manage lab dips, samples and approvals
  • Liaise with suppliers and factories throughout development
  • Work closely with design, sourcing and production teams

About You:

  • Experience as a Junior Technical Designer, Assistant Technical Designer or similar
  • Experience with womenswear jersey, ideally daywear, leisure and/or formalwear
  • Strong technical pack and specification skills – essential
  • Confident using Adobe Illustrator/CAD
  • Good understanding of garment construction and fit
  • Highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage deadlines
  • Proactive, collaborative and keen to develop within a technical role
