The role of Technician is to be responsible for performing a range of routine activities to support effective completion of analyses and meet the customer's contractual agreements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lab admin and housekeeping activities
  • Sample preparation and management
  • Basic routine analysis
  • Working in accordance with UKAS and quality standards within the Food Sciences laboratory

Key duties involve providing high-quality customer service by effectively organizing workload, ensuring data integrity, and delivering timely and accurate results. The role includes:

  • Performing basic routine tasks and sample preparation under supervision
  • Operating basic lab equipment
  • Following SOPs
  • Calibrating equipment
  • Producing reliable data

Competence in using generic software packages such as LIMS and Q Pulse is required. Candidates should have a scientific understanding of basic lab equipment, excellent customer service skills, good written and verbal communication, meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, and good IT skills.
