Platform Engineering Manager – Setting the roadmap for a new AI platform at a Quant Fund

Build a Platform Engineering team at a smaller Quant‑focused Hedge Fund.

You’ll shape the next phase of their engineering strategy, including setting the roadmap for a new AI platform hosted in AWS.

It’s a smaller environment here, and things move quickly; as a result, you’ll need to be very hands‑on. You’ll ideally have recently progressed into a Lead position and have managed a team of ~5 engineers.

You’ll design and run core services, maintain CI/CD pipelines, build an internal developer platform, and lead a small senior team, setting standards and best practices.

You’ll ensure reliability, scalability, security, and observability for compute‑ and data‑intensive workloads, while collaborating closely with engineering, data, and business teams.

You’ll also stay at the forefront of cloud, container, and ML/AI infrastructure, driving adoption where it adds value, all while contributing directly to architecture, implementation, and mentoring your team.

Naturally, you’ll ideally have a background shaping the Engineering direction at a buy‑side firm whilst leading a small team.

• Central London – initially 5x days on site, dropping down to 4x after passing probation
• Up to £150k basic salary / £250k total compensation
