Most infrastructure roles ask you to fit into something that already exists. This one doesn't. You'd join a 40-person hedge fund betting big on AI, and you'd decide how the infrastructure behind that bet gets built.
Right now, the researchers and engineers training and deploying AI models are carrying their own infrastructure. You would be responsible for building out the DevOps structure moving forward at the fund.
You'll be working on AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform and afforded the ownership to build as you see fit within a flat hierarchy.
There's no legacy stack to untangle, no old Terraform you didn't write. You'd set the standards, pick the tools, and shape how this firm builds infrastructure for years to come.
It doesn't stop at cloud, either. There's a potential in-house inference stack on the table, including on-premises infrastructure, still at the spec stage which you can help design.
