Job Description
Be the expert in the room when it comes to Power and Gas pricing.
If you are up to date with the latest hedge fund news, then you’re going to like this one.
You’ll be driving the growth and breathing life into the commodities arm within this early-stage multi strategy hedge fund. Working directly with the head of quant, you’ll be the ‘go-to’ person when it comes to commodities research, specifically within Power and Gas. You’ll be building pricing libraries and analytics models for energy trading workflows from absolute scratch.
You’ll also bring the willingness to build and be amongst the architecture/ domain expertise, whilst interacting directly with the head of commodities.
They are in an early stage following their spin-off from another asset manager who last year were ranked as one of the largest globally. Headcount is growing significantly, but organically and are now in their next phase of hiring following the embedding of their initial team.
The role will evolve from setting up foundational Power and Gas models for financial contracts from scratch, to later supporting models for physical commodities. All while having a broader understanding of the commodities space. Models will be used for strategy analysis and models for pricing and risk. You will be focused on delivery rather than managing a team. Although you will have the scope to do this long term, right now, you’ll be working to get your hands dirty.
If you’re wanting to work in a lean environment to bring your niche experience into a growing fund, get in touch.
No up-to date CV required initially, we can work on updating together. Let’s chat.
