Job Title: Business Analyst – Data Mapping / Operations / ETL
Location: Central London (Hybrid – 3 Days in Office)
Day Rate: £475-500pd (Outside IR35)

A leading financial services firm is seeking an experienced Business Analyst for a contract engagement focused on data mapping, operational transformation, and integration across custodial and internal systems. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate and compliant transaction data flows through the business, with a focus on ETL processes and integration with external custodians such as Pershing or RBC.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the bridge between business operations and technology teams, translating business needs into detailed data and process requirements.
- Lead data mapping activities between internal platforms and third-party custodians (e.g., Pershing, RBC).
- Analyse current-state operations, focusing on transaction reporting, trade processing, and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to define and validate requirements at the ETL layer.
- Support testing cycles (UAT, data validation, defect resolution) for data and system integration.
- Create and maintain documentation including business requirements, data dictionaries, process maps, and data flow diagrams.
- Engage stakeholders across operations, compliance, and IT to ensure successful delivery of business outcomes.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within a financial services or investment operations environment.
- Strong expertise in data mapping and data flow analysis across complex systems.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes, data transformation, and integration best practices.
- Experience working with custodians such as Pershing and/or RBC – essential.
- Background in operations including transaction reporting, settlements, and post-trade processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong documentation skills – experience with tools like Confluence, Jira, Visio, and Excel.
