Paraplanner in Crawley

Crawley Full-Time On-site
S

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Paraplanner looking to join a growing and successful business offering a friendly and supportive working environment, plenty of flexibility and excellent opportunities for career development.

This is an interesting and varied role with a good mix of technical paraplanning and client involvement. You'll be working closely with experienced Financial Planners, with the opportunity to develop your knowledge, take on more responsibility and continue progressing your career.

About the role

Working closely with the Financial Planners, you'll be involved in putting together financial plans for a range of clients, researching different options, analysing existing arrangements and working through the technical detail to develop suitable recommendations.

A big part of the role will involve producing clear, well-written suitability reports and using cashflow modelling to help clients understand their financial position and plan for the future.

There is also the opportunity to be involved in client meetings and build relationships with clients directly, so this isn't a role where you'll be limited to sitting behind a desk producing reports.

The role will include:

  • Preparing suitability reports and financial planning recommendations
  • Researching and analysing pensions, investments and other financial products
  • Reviewing existing client arrangements and comparing different options
  • Producing cashflow models and technical calculations
  • Working through client information and identifying anything that needs further investigation
  • Supporting Financial Planners with the development of financial plans
  • Attending client meetings where appropriate
  • Liaising with clients and keeping them updated throughout the planning process
  • Working with the wider team to ensure recommendations are implemented correctly
  • Helping to improve processes and ways of working

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting into the technical detail, working through different scenarios and understanding the reasoning behind the advice, rather than simply producing reports from a template.

About you

  • You'll be an experienced Paraplanner who enjoys the technical and analytical side of financial planning and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ideally, you'll have around 3–4 years' experience in a similar role, with strong suitability report-writing skills and a good understanding of pensions, investments and financial planning legislation.
  • You'll be comfortable carrying out research, analysing client portfolios and using financial planning software, including cashflow modelling tools.
  • You'll also need excellent written communication skills, strong attention to detail and the confidence to question information or ask for clarification when something doesn't quite add up.
  • You'll enjoy working closely with others but also be comfortable managing your own workload and using your initiative.
  • The Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning would be an advantage, although it isn't essential. If you're working towards further qualifications, you'll have plenty of encouragement and support.
  • This could particularly suit someone who genuinely enjoys paraplanning and wants to continue developing your technical expertise, while also having the opportunity to become more involved with clients.

About the company

This is an established and growing business offering a friendly, collaborative working environment where people are encouraged to develop their skills and contribute ideas.

There is a strong emphasis on supporting employees with their professional development, whether that's through further qualifications, additional training or opportunities to progress within the business. There are opportunities to progress on to a financial planner position if desired

They also recognise the importance of having a good work-life balance, offering hybrid working with the requirement for just 2 days per week in the office and flexible hours.

Alongside this, there is a generous benefits package including private medical insurance, a competitive pension scheme, life assurance, enhanced family-friendly policies and the option to purchase additional annual leave.

If you're an experienced Paraplanner looking for an interesting technical role within a growing business that offers flexibility, a supportive team and genuine opportunities to develop, please get in touch for more information.
