A dynamic and prestigious professional services company based in the heart of the City of London are seeking a talented and experienced Head of Enterprise Data & Platforms to join their team in this newly created role. This multifaceted position offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to provide technical leadership, architectural authority, and strategic oversight across enterprise data, shared global infrastructure, and Microsoft-based technology platforms used within the organisation.

The main focus of the role will include:

  • Provide technical and architectural leadership of the companies shared global infrastructure, including cloud platforms, identity, integration, and shared services delivered via a managed service provider.
  • Define and lead the enterprise Microsoft platform strategy, covering Azure, Power Platform, Power BI, M365, SharePoint, and related technologies, aligned to CISO direction.
  • Provide technical leadership for the co-development and stewardship of common data models across the organisation.
  • Establish reference architectures, standards, and implementation patterns for data, analytics, integration, and platforms using Microsoft technologies.
  • Provide thought leadership to global offices on data architecture, analytics maturity, cloud platforms, and solution design.
  • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for significant infrastructure risks, incidents, and architectural decisions, supporting CISO accountability.
  • Lead and develop a small, senior internal team responsible for infrastructure, applications, vendor oversight, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical thought leadership on AI, automation, and advanced analytics, including Microsoft Copilot and responsible AI adoption.
  • Ensure platforms are secure, resilient, scalable, cost-effective, and AI-ready, working closely with Cyber Defence and Advisory teams.
  • Build strong relationships across global locations, facilitating communities of practice and managing strategic technology partners to maximise value and reduce risk.
  • Driving continuous improvement in data and technology by staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

To succeed in this role, the individual will need:

  • Extensive hands‑on experience in enterprise‑scale data, cloud, and platform architecture, with strong depth in modern data platforms.
  • Proven experience designing and operating high‑volume, high‑velocity data ingestion pipelines, including batch and near‑real‑time ingestion, across multiple source systems including APIs, ETL/ELT patterns, and event‑driven architectures.
  • Deep technical expertise in the Microsoft technology stack, particularly Azure, Power Platform, Power BI, M365, and modern Microsoft data services (e.g. Fabric, Synapse, SQL, Data Lake).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and stewarding common and canonical data models across multiple organisations or business units.
  • Strong understanding of data platform architecture, including ingestion, storage, transformation, semantic layers, and analytics consumption.
  • Experience designing platforms that support scalability, resilience, security, and cost efficiency, particularly in cloud‑native environments.
  • Practical understanding of AI and advanced analytics enablement, including data readiness for AI, automation, and Microsoft Copilot use cases.
  • Proven ability to act as a technical authority and trusted advisor, influencing senior stakeholders through technical credibility rather than formal authority.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong judgement and decision‑making skills, with a focus on proportionate, value‑based outcomes.
  • Adept at improving outcomes through proactive team coaching and development.
