This multifaceted position offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced professional to drive the companies design, coordination and oversight of the Global Inspection Programme.
The Global Audit Quality Inspection Lead provides strategic direction, risk focus, and oversight of the inspections programme, ensuring it is well-designed, consistent, and effective in identifying matters that impact quality, reputation, and compliance across the business. The role provides supervision and review of the operational coordination of inspections and seeks to consistently evaluate and improve upon how the programme operates, evolves, and delivers value. This role provides the opportunity to lead at a global level, engaging directly with worldwide senior leadership.
The main focus of the role will include:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the global inspections programme, ensuring it is consistently improved upon and remains risk-focused, proportionate, and aligned with the business’ quality strategy.
- Lead the initial and ongoing evolution of the inspections programme, challenging existing models and introducing changes to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and impact.
- Set inspection priorities and areas of focus based on risk assessment, timely evaluation of inspection outcomes, and emerging themes.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Quality & Risk Inspections team, including holding them accountable for timely delivery, appropriate escalation, and effective follow-up of inspection outcomes.
- Oversee the consistency and coherence of inspection outcomes, ensuring that key risks, themes, and insights are identified and aligned with quality, risk and compliance objectives.
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of timely, clear, concise, and insightful reporting on inspection outcomes, themes, and risks for leadership teams and governance bodies.
- Translate inspection insights and recommended actions into targeted training and capability-building initiatives.
- Contribute to the achievement of business Quality & Risk objectives and the ongoing development of the quality strategy.
- Promote a coaching-led approach to inspections, supporting global offices in understanding findings and strengthening audit quality.
To succeed in this role, the individual will need:
- Experience designing, building, or materially reshaping programmes, frameworks, or operating models within a quality, risk, or assurance environment.
- Ability to lead and evolve complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders, geographies, and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of risk management principles and the application of risk-based approaches to inspection, review, or assurance programmes.
- Experience preparing and presenting clear, risk-focused reporting and insights to senior leadership, committees, or governance bodies.
- A coaching mindset, focused on improvement, capability-building, and long-term impact rather than.
- Professional qualification in audit, assurance, risk, or a related discipline (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
- Prior experience working in an audit technical function within a professional services firm.
