We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring teacher of Computer Science to join our extremely successful team. Having opened in 2018, we now have three cohorts complete their GCSEs and we have a thriving Sixth Form, which includes Computer Science A Level and T Level Digital as part of our broad range of subjects. This advert relates to the Lead Practitioner role. We are advertising for one new person to join the team, though this may be an exceptional ECT, an experienced teacher who is looking to take on some leadership responsibility within the team for their development towards middle leadership, or a very experienced colleague who can take on a Lead Practitioner role, supporting the development of pedagogy within the team and across the school.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and support the development of pedagogy within the Computer Science team and across the school.
  • Mentor staff, contribute to curriculum design, and progress towards middle leadership.
  • Shape instruction, assessment, and learning environments to reflect the school’s values of Discipline, Hard Work, Honesty, and Humility.

  • Last year, KS4 progress was in the top 20% nationally, KS4 attainment in the top 9%, and our trust contextual scores put us in the top 7% for progress and top 4% for 9-4 in English and Maths.
  • Our Year 13 cohort achieved exceptional KS5 attainment this summer, with 90% going on to university or a degree apprenticeship, 15% to a Russell Group University.
  • Fifty percent of our T Level Digital cohort achieved merits (equivalent to 3 B’s at A Level), and the vast majority of our A Level and T Level students have gone on to university to study a digital-related subject.

Who We Are

Saracens High School is a secondary school that opened in September 2018 for Year 7 pupils and is now full with 1,200 pupils from a diverse community in Colindale, North London. The area has exceptional transport links, including the Northern Line (Colindale) and the mainline trains (Mill Hill Broadway), as well as easy access to the M1, A1, and A41 commuter routes.
