This role sits within a state-of-the-art site where you will be operating with high care within a food production environment. You will predominantly be working as a front-line engineer to maintain and support installed assets for this area of the site, working closely with the team leader.

In particular, you’ll be working to support our whey production – which is part of our functional ingredients business, where we supply specialist whey to confectionery producers, and an exciting growth area for Saputo. This is also the site where we produce a range of cheddars, including Cathedral City.

Work pattern: 3-on/3-off (days and nights)

Salary: £55,707.84 p/a

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

  • Delivering a range of preventative maintenance schedules and reactive engineering requirements
  • Working with a range of machinery and instrumentation, including pumps, motors, valves, agitators, etc.
  • Working with other engineering teams and production staff to plan and execute work
  • Ensuring work is recorded and tracked via the maintenance system
  • Supporting other areas and gaining broader experience of site operations
  • Prioritising workload, ensuring awareness of production timescales
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

  • A time served apprenticeship, NVQ, or HNC/HND qualification
  • Able to demonstrate multi-skilled engineering capabilities
  • Someone who enjoys taking a hands-on approach to engineering, working both in and outdoors
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience working within a production environment (FMCG preferred)
  • Able to work in a team, supporting others with their workload and development when required
  • Comfortable working with different computer systems
