Due to needs for an expanding site of c.400 people, we are looking to increase the headcount of our training team with the responsibility of ensuring all employees receive a first-class induction, and mandatory and job specific training. After the initial training has been delivered, you will focus on driving operational excellence through training programmes you will assess through GAP analysis, develop these further, and deliver to ensure the teams have a roadmap which will help us to ensure cross-training of operators.
You’ll be liaising with site operational teams to ensure departmental training plans, SOPs, training materials, presentations, workbooks, manuals, and handbooks are in place and regularly reviewed to maintain relevance and accessibility. We’ll also look to you to represent the company at higher education recruitment fairs, local school career days/talks, and developing future talent pipelines. Working at a 24/7 production site, there may be occasions when you will need to work during an evening or weekend to deliver training to teams (time in lieu will be offered for these occasions).
YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…
- Completing the delivery of induction training to the site requirement standards
- Liaising with site operational teams to ensure departmental training plans and SOPs are in place, meeting required standards and are regularly reviewed
- Creating and delivering agreed compliance and training KPIs and provide data as required for site and compliance and training reporting
- Ensuring clear training plans are phased in line with site requirements and aligned to site budget to maximise cost effectiveness of spend
- Organising, developing and delivering professional and effective training programmes to meet specific training needs
- Ensuring training systems integrate with the way Saputo Dairy UK runs and supports improvements
- Designing and applying assessment tools to measure training effectiveness (such as RoI)
- Maintaining and storing employee training records, pulling together and submitting monthly training reports, and ensuring records are available for audit readiness
- Ensuring employee and manager engagement in training needs identified through individual growth plan processes
- Administering of modern apprenticeships on site (including sign-up, joining paperwork, levy payments, and supporting candidates at the point of starting their apprenticeships)

- An experienced training coordinator within a production/manufacturing environment (or comparable) with the ability to take ownership without supervision
- Able to demonstrate how the training you have delivered has led to improvements
- Able to gather, analyse, and present data and recommendations
- A strong communicator with stakeholders at all levels and able to deliver training in an engaging and professional manner
- Able to develop strong working relationships with external training partners
- Organised and able to plan and execute your own workload
