Saputo Dairy UK (SDUK) brands include Cathedral City and other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients, and dairy-free products.

We are hiring multiple Bagging Whey Operator positions to work within the functional ingredients section.

Responsibilities include bagging and storing whey products, loading and unloading deliveries, manual handling of bags (25 kg and 1 tonne), documentation and administration tasks, maintaining a safe and clean working environment by following SOPs, and collecting samples for the on-site lab.

These roles are 6-month FTC positions.

Shift pattern

3-on/3-off, days only, 4pm–12am (28 hours a week).

Responsibilities

  • Understand and observe H&S rules, comply with company policy and procedures, and promote a safe working environment.
  • Prepare, develop, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Carry out pre-check, set-up, and start-up procedures for various plant equipment; record, monitor, and control throughput and quality.
  • Ensure all areas are clean and inspected ahead of the next production run; maintain relevant records and communicate across teams at all levels.
  • Ensure quality checks are carried out as defined by HACCP; carry out problem diagnosis and communicate with engineering when required.
  • Assist with the collection of samples and liaison with the on-site lab as needed.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Experience using computer systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Understanding of manual handling and FLT requirements.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to H&S standards and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills with colleagues at all levels.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving and maintain production quality.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene.
