As a top 10 global dairy processor, we value contributions that matter and strive to foster an inclusive, growth-driven work environment.

This role is a key position within an exciting transitional period for the Saputo business, with opportunities to work on projects across the UK and a large-scale project at our Nuneaton site. The primary focus within this role is to implement, analyse, maintain, and optimise operational technology (OT) applications for all manufacturing sites, delivering solutions for capital projects and day-to-day support, working with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. OT is utilised to digitally control the machinery and equipment used for production and packaging lines, which also allows us to continue driving automation across our sites.

Within the role, you will be working to support the implementation of new systems, managing relationships with vendors to ensure we are receiving the level of support within the SLAs, and developing towards a place where you can get quotations for work and working on the OPEX requirements with budgeting responsibilities. To achieve the works across sites, there are some travel requirements within the role, with upcoming projects over the next 12 months to integrate and incorporate systems and processes.

YOU’LL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY…

  • Maintaining, monitoring, configuring, implementing, and supporting the OT applications used in the manufacturing sites across the UK, ensuring standards are aligned and best practices are met.
  • Supporting the diagnostics and troubleshooting of applications to ensure continuous system functionality and reliability.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement solutions for OT systems.
  • Ensuring cyber security, audit and regulatory standard compliance.
  • Implementing cyber security measures and best practices to safeguard OT infrastructure and data integrity.
  • Developing comprehensive documentation, user guides, and SOPs for OT applications and processes, and providing training, guidance and support to end-users.
  • Developing and executing testing strategies and conducting regular tests, performance evaluations, and quality assurance checks to ensure the functionality, security, and reliability of OT applications.
  • Liaising with external vendors, suppliers, and technology partners for system upgrades, patches, and enhancements.
  • Performing data analysis, generating reports, and providing insights to support decision-making processes, identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of optimisation.

YOU’RE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE…

  • Skilled, qualified and experienced working within a comparable technical position with IT or OT applications, or other technical disciplines.
  • Able to demonstrate technical knowledge of common applications and infrastructure environments (i.e. Microsoft Windows Server, VMWare Virtualisation etc.).
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of industrial control systems (ICS) equipment, and its connectivity and communication to OT applications.
  • A strong communicator, with experience documenting requirements and processes, and providing updates to stakeholders.
  • A strong problem-solver with a focus on root-cause analysis with available information.
  • Experienced working within an environment of safe working practices (ideally within an operational/production environment).
  • Able to show an understanding of lean manufacturing (not a prerequisite).
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of cyber security best practices and controls, and their application to improve security posture.
