This Cheese Packer position is one where you will gain experience of the cheese-making process, supporting the quality of product being packaged before being sent off to mature. The role is one with real progression opportunities, where you can build a career in the industry. Your responsibilities will span utilising computers to operate the machinery, tracking data and analysis of the cheese coming through, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality products. Shift Pattern: 3-on/3-off, days and nights. 7 7 Salary: £31,053.24 per annum YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY Operating cheese packing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production instruction. Being hands-on in the event of downtime/breakdown. Maintain cheese quality by manually handling cheese at 20kg and manually boxing up to 50 tonnes at 10 tonnes an hour. Undertaking process monitoring, keeping accurate records, and taking the necessary corrective action to maintain cheese line efficiencies and packaging quality. Understanding the need for, and carrying out, hygiene and housekeeping requirements within the cheese department in accordance with relevant schedules and food safety requirements. Identifying and communicating opportunities to improve working methods. YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE Someone who has deep and demonstratable experience working within a food production environment, following recipes, and/or can display a passion for the food and the products we produce. Knowledgeable with basic IT skills. eg. Ability to use a PC/HMI (with keyboard skills) with additional knowledge of Word and Excel an advantage. Efficient with problem solving skills. Able to communicate and work alone and as part of a team. Aware of basic food hygiene. Aware of health and safety procedures and completion of IOSH working safety.
