SDUK's brands include the Nations favourite cheese brand Cathedral City plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products. A key objective for this individual is to coordinate activities and standards primarily in the production area. Designing out flaws and building in capability to optimise the line performance. Using our information systems such as Harford for the identification of top losses and creation of improvement plans will be fundamental.

Youll drive a quality culture through the adherence to first class techniques to ensure compliance to food safety and GMP standards. Youll provide strong maintenance & engineering support in the area, improving efficiency, safety, quality and cost.

Work pattern: 4-on-4-off days & nights.

YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY

  • Working with the process improvement manager to provide input into the current state of the plants operations, develop future vision and support implementation of improvement plans using root cause analysis, influence changeover and production best practice, and focus on improvements with waste management.
  • Assisting in locating and implementing best-in-class operational processes and then facilitate them into the plant with the support of a multifunctional team, providing detailed technical guidance for the planning and completion of activities on the process lines, using criticality analysis of site assets to drive improvement projects in key areas, balancing expectations of shift area delivery against the CI priority list, ensuring compliance to timing of delivery and expenditure.
  • Offering major breakdown coordination, analysis of reports & guidance on recommendations, ensuring communication is maintained between all parties involved in this area of work, and support the team leader and production agenda with a balanced view.

YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE

  • Educated in a relevant field (apprenticeship to NHD level or equivalent, or a strong graduate) with relevant practical experience within engineering role in an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
  • Able to demonstrate process excellence expertise with either lean or six sigma experience.
  • Experienced, with a good knowledge of modern condition monitoring and preventative maintenance techniques.
  • Able to demonstrate awareness and understanding of key legislative and safety requirements within engineering.
  • Are a strong analytical thinker with planning and decision-making skills.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to think strategically and multitask.
  • A skilled problem solver, and able to escalate when appropriate, communicating actions and mitigation implementation plans clearly.
  • Able to effectively influence and communicate at all levels.
