SDUK\’s brands include the Nations favourite cheese brand Cathedral City, Wensleydale cheese plus other well-known butter & spreads (Clover, Country Life, Vitalite, Utterly Butterly), functional ingredients and dairy free products.
Due to a change of focus within the engineering team, we are adding to our engineering headcount at our Wensleydale site in Hawes.
This is a position that will cover maintenance of our state-of-the-art cheesemaking equipment, and a key role working closely with the engineering manager to develop and evolve our planned preventative maintenance and asset case approach to ensure optimal efficiency in the production area, ensuring site facilities are maintained, and will support the effluent plant.
Shift pattern: Monday Friday (office hours) with some flexibility to support teams/projects when required
YOULL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER BY
- Supporting the development of planned preventative maintenance routines (PPMs), ensuring works align with OEM manuals
- Ensuring plant, equipment, buildings, and facilities are maintained to standards that deliver and effective and safe operation
- Utilising your multi-skilled engineering experience to identify improvement opportunities
- Supporting projects for build, installation, and commissioning of new lines, or movement and installation of lines at the site
- Ensuring you continue to have an up-to-date understanding of relevant legal requirements of the business and your role in relation to H&S, hygiene, and other aspects relevant to the role
- Communicating well with teams across the site
YOURE BEST SUITED FOR THE ROLE IF YOU ARE
- A multi-skilled engineer with an HNC or HND background in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experienced working with an effluent plant (strong advantage, not a requirement)
- A strong problem-solver with demonstratable experience working on continuous improvement projects, with a reliability and asset care mindset
- Experienced working on a range of PPMs (ideally with experience identifying and delivering improvements to these)
- Able to carry out fault-finding with PLCs (nice to have, not a requirement)
- Comfortable using CMMS and able to interpret data to increase plant efficiency and identify top loss
