Are you ready to shape the future of data?
Matillion is the company behind Maia, the AI Data Automation platform.
In the AI economy, demand for data is exploding.
Manual data engineering can’t keep up.
Maia fixes that by combining 15 years of data expertise with agentic AI to eliminate the manual work that slows data teams down.
Organisations like Cisco, Docu Sign, and Slack are already using it to deliver real business impact, faster.
We started in Manchester and now we’re global - with teams across the UK, US and India.
We are driven, curious, energetic people who move fast, think big and hold ourselves to a high standard.
We’re here to make a dent in the universe bigger than ourselves.
And we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
About The Role
As a key member of the team, reporting directly to the VP of Strategy & Business Operations, you will serve as the analytical backbone for Matillion's most senior business forums.
In this role, you will drive independent investigations into critical, high-impact topics that the business hasn't yet explored.
You will influence decisions at the highest levels of executive leadership purely through rigorous thinking, sharp communication, and the confidence to say what you see.
Rather than following a pre-existing playbook, you will write it.
From quarterbacking the MQBR and executive offsite agendas to structuring cross-functional narratives and surfacing game-changing insights, you will set the benchmark for how Matillion understands its own performance.
If you thrive on autonomy, translate complex business data into decision-ready clarity, and comfortably navigate high-stakes executive environments, this role provides the platform to make a direct, lasting mark on our growth.
This role is hybrid and requires visiting our Manchester HQ office at least once a month.
- What you will be doing
- Going where others haven't - proactively identifying untapped areas of the business and leading independent deep-dives that move the needle.
- Turning complexity into clarity - translating ambiguous business data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Being the connective tissue - working across the business to gather context, spot patterns, and surface what matters, before someone else asks the question.
- Setting the standard - creating work that becomes the baseline for how Matillion understands its own performance.
- Owning the forum agenda - quarterbacking the MQBR and executive offsite by structuring the narrative, driving the insights, and making sure the right conversations happen.
- What we are looking for
- Proven experience in strategy, business operations or high-growth B2B Saa S, with prior experience orchestrating MBR, QBR, or Board-level cadences.
- Deep fluency in core Saa S metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, churn, pipeline coverage) and how they drive strategic business decisions.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills for financial and operational modelling, plus working knowledge of BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Thought Spot, Sigma) to build and interpret dashboards.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build clean slides, craft tight narratives, and hold your own under scrutiny from senior leaders.
- High self-direction with the ability to scope, prioritise, and execute end-to-end initiatives without a prescribed playbook or micro-management.
- A direct, low-ego communication style that delivers uncomfortable findings transparently while remaining completely open to challenge.
- Familiarity with leveraging AI tools and automation to optimise business reporting and operational workflows.
At Matillion, we are committed to providing compensation in line with market standards based on the role, job family, job level and country.
This role’s estimated annual salaried pay range for this position is £56,800 - £85,200.
The final salary will be based on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications demonstrated in the hiring process.
