A specialist B2B research and insight agency is seeking a Marketing Lead to take ownership of its marketing function and drive the next phase of commercial growth. Known for producing high-quality thought leadership and research-led content for clients across professional services and beyond, the business has built strong brand foundations and is now looking for a marketing leader to sharpen its strategy, expand its reach, and increase pipeline contribution. Reporting directly to the CEO, this is an exciting, high-visibility role with genuine scope to shape how a growing agency positions itself and engages its market. The successful candidate will balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, working across brand, content, demand generation, and digital channels.

Role

  • Own and lead the overall marketing strategy, aligned with business growth objectives and commercial priorities.
  • Set direction across brand, demand generation, content, and digital channels, ensuring coherence and measurable impact.
  • Manage and develop a small in-house team, alongside external agencies and specialist partners.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team, contributing to go-to-market planning and business development.
  • Own and evolve the brand identity, positioning, and messaging, ensuring consistency across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Lead a content and thought leadership programme, overseeing the production of reports, whitepapers, blogs, and multi-channel campaigns that translate market insight into compelling narratives.
  • Drive lead generation and pipeline growth through integrated campaigns spanning SEO, email marketing, paid media, and LinkedIn.
  • Own marketing's contribution to revenue, including pipeline generation, lead quality, and funnel accountability through to conversion.
  • Oversee website performance and user experience, working with agency partners to develop organic growth as a core acquisition channel.
  • Track, analyse, and report on marketing performance and ROI, including pipeline impact and revenue attribution.
  • Plan and execute events, webinars, sponsorships, and speaking opportunities to support brand visibility and pipeline development.
  • Identify and monitor growth opportunities through market insight, customer feedback, competitor analysis, and CRM data.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior B2B marketing role, ideally within professional services, agency, or research-led environments.
  • Strong understanding of brand building, content marketing, and demand generation, with the ability to operate across all three simultaneously.
  • Commercially minded, with a demonstrable track record of connecting marketing activity to business strategy, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Confident working closely with senior stakeholders, including C-suite, and able to influence without formal authority.
  • Experience managing teams, agencies, and budgets, with the ability to get the best from internal and external resource.
  • Hands-on and pragmatic, comfortable executing as well as setting strategy.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a high standard of quality and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SEO, performance marketing, and digital channels, including working effectively with specialist agency partners.
  • Experience with CRM platforms and marketing analytics, with the ability to track and report on performance against commercial objectives.
