Our client is a venture-backed innovation business using carbon capture to create synthetic carbon-neutral fuels. Following early-stage funding, they have successfully demonstrated their technology at a pilot site and are now preparing for full-scale deployment. With a tight-knit, engineering-focused team, they are looking for a Brand & Comms Lead to define, scale, and own their brand as the company transitions from R&D to commercial rollout.
Role
- Own and lead all aspects of the company's brand, including content creation (written, visual, and video) and external communications.
- Manage relationships with external communications partners and oversee all media outreach.
- Build brand awareness to attract top engineering talent and engage investors, policymakers, customers, and the wider public.
- Develop and execute a strategic presence at industry events, conferences, and speaking opportunities.
- Shape the company's narrative, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging across all channels.
- Lead the scaling of the brand function, establishing processes and frameworks to support future growth.
- Collaborate closely with the leadership team and engineers to translate technical achievements into accessible, exciting stories.
Requirements
- Experience in brand, communications, or marketing roles, ideally with exposure to tech, hardware, or climate tech.
- Strong content creation skills, including storytelling through written, visual, and video media.
- Experience managing agencies or external partners.
- Ability to translate complex engineering and technical concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, startup environment with a small, in-person team.
- Passion for sustainability, climate tech, or hardware brands is a plus.
