Type: Permanent, 37.5 hours a week, term-time +2 weeks Starting September 2026 City Academy Norwich is seeking passionate and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistants to join our expanding SEND Department.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside highly skilled SEND professionals, planning, resourcing, and delivering lessons that help students with additional needs to thrive.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons within Nurture Classes.
  • Support pupils to access the curriculum and develop independence.
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, families, and external professionals.

Role Overview Higher Level Teaching Assistants play a vital part in delivering high-quality SEND provision across the Academy.

Deployment may include

  • Plan, resource and deliver lessons in collaboration with teachers and SEND colleagues.
  • Provide targeted intervention and personalised support for students with SEND.
  • Working within specialist Nurture classrooms, the Cognition & Learning Base, or the SEMH Base
  • Supervise classes when teachers are temporarily unavailable.
  • Attend Parents' Evening alongside Lead Nurture Teacher/Nurture Teacher Applications are welcomed from aspiring teachers or those seeking to develop a career in education or the public sector.
