Salary: £29,625 per annum

Vacancy Type: Permanent, Starting July 2026

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working shifts include weekends and evenings over 52 weeks.

Wymondham College has over 400 staff dedicated to supporting World Class education. The College is one of the top State Schools in the Country and is recognised as one of the highest performing State Schools in the East of England. The Chef de Partie will be responsible to the Catering Manager, Executive Chef and Sous Chef for providing kitchen support to the College Catering Department. The post-holder will work as part of an enthusiastic and committed team producing the main meals for the campus.

Qualifications and Previous Experience

  • A good level of literacy and numeracy;
  • Have previous experience in a busy kitchen, with an in-depth knowledge of food preparation, production and service;
  • Have good oral and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with all staff and students;
  • A good knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations in relation to food preparation, service and storage.

General Responsibilities

The Chef de Partie will be responsible to the Catering Manager, Executive Chef and Sous Chef for providing kitchen support to the College Catering Department. The post-holder will have access to and be responsible for confidential information and documentation so must ensure confidential or sensitive material is handled appropriately and accurately. The post-holder shall participate in the College’s programme of performance management and continuing professional development.

Specific Responsibilities

  • The production and service of meals and refreshments throughout the school day;
  • Catering for all school functions and courses held during the school term and non-term time;
  • Monitor stock control, rotation and records;
  • Assists in the preparation of college meals;
  • Ensures staff and kitchen hygiene requirements are met;
  • Ensures Health and Safety at work requirements are met;
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as the line manager may reasonably require.
