We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering organisation developing advanced mobile machinery and defence-sector mobility systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems
- Integrate hydraulic systems into mechanical designs
- Produce 3D models and detailed drawings using PTC Creo
- Conduct FEA, stress analysis, and simulation-led design validation
- Collaborate with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and quality teams on integrated systems
- Ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and compliance with defence-sector standards
- Support prototyping, testing, validation, and field troubleshooting
- Maintain BOMs within ERP (Navision/Business Central) and PLM (Windchill)
- Lead compliance activities including CE/UKCA marking, technical documentation
- Support customer acceptance testing, inspections, and audit requirements
- Perform structural and material optimisation using simulation-led methods
- Conduct DFMEA, PFMEA, and FMEA activities across the design lifecycle
Skill Required
- Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
- 5-10+ years experience in mechanical design
