Sapien is looking for a Product Design Engineer for a well established UK manufacturer who deliver bespoke fabrication product solutions. This is a hands on role combining product design, CAD/CAM programming, and close collaboration with manufacturing teams. You will be responsible for designing products, creating production-ready drawings, and developing programmes for manufacturing equipment.

This position would suit someone with at least 12 months of SolidWorks experience who is looking to further develop their technical skills within a growing and supportive manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop products in line with customer and project requirements.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of existing products to enhance quality, performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist with research and development activities to support innovation and new product introduction.
  • Produce accurate and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Create programmes for manufacturing machinery including laser and punch equipment.
  • Ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and production-ready.
  • Work to project deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and quality.
  • Support projects from concept through to manufacture.
Skill Required
  • Minimum 12 months' experience using SolidWorks.
  • CAD/CAM programming experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience within sheet metal, fabrication, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience programming CNC machinery such as laser or punch equipment is desirable.
Compensation & Other Benefits
