Client Overview: Sapien is looking for multiple Production Operatives to join our client’s engineering team in Kent. This role involves assembling both simple and complex mechanical/electro-mechanical components in a quality-focused production environment. Please note: due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain SC-level security clearance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safely and effectively use a variety of hand and bench tools.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions accurately.
  • Carry out mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly tasks to a high standard.
  • Follow verbal instructions from team members and the Line Manager.
  • Attend customer and supplier visits when required; therefore, a full UK driving licence and valid passport are essential.
  • Produce high-quality components in line with company standards and procedures.

Skills Required:

  • Experience assembling simple and complex mechanical/electro-mechanical components with a strong focus on quality.
  • Previous experience within the defence sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Confident using hand tools, including torque drivers.
  • Knowledge of ESD procedures is beneficial but not essential.
  • Computer literate, including MS Office packages.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical information.
